Lisa Leady NCMG, CMG, is a certifier for National Dog Groomers Association and was a member of Groom Team USA from 2000-2006. In 2005 she qualified for the traveling team to France, where she helped bring home the Silver medal, in 2007 she qualified again for the traveling team to Italy. Lisa is the proud owner of Primp My Pooch Mobile in Genoa, IL, and breeds and shows Smooth Fox Terriers. Lisa was honored to be a contestant on Animal Planet's Groomer Has It 2.
Jessica Adorno is the owner/founder of Pupparazzi Pets Mobile Pet Grooming and has been involved in the grooming industry for 15 years. She was formally trained at American Academy of Dog Grooming located in NYC, is CPR certified and has extensive knowledge in skin and coat conditions. Jessica worked in a grooming salon for four years where she gathered knowledge of several breeds and the complexities that groomers, pet owners, and dogs face. In 2007, Pupparazzi Pets was born as one of the first mobile pet grooming businesses in Bronx, NY, which began in a horse trailer and is now three elite mobile vans. Throughout the years, she has continued her education and is dedicated to her craft.
Jennifer Bishop-Jenkins, ICMG, is a career educator and advocate, an award-winning Master Groomer, and owner of Love Fur Dogs in Glencoe, Illinois. Named “Best Groomer in Chicagoland” by the Chicago Tribune, Jennifer founded the Illinois Professional Pet Groomers Association and serves as IPPGA Co-President, where she played a pivotal role in helping to gain “essential” status for pet groomers during the pandemic crisis. She was featured in the Hulu Network Television series "Small Business Revolution" as a Grooming Expert and serves on the Leadership Team for the National Alliance of Grooming Associations (NAGA). Jennifer and her husband are also nationally respected victim activists and educators and enjoy showing their Miniature Poodle and their Australian Shepherd.
Nadia Bongelli has been grooming pets since 2009 and competing since 2012. Her accolades include Barkleigh Honors Up and Coming Groomer of the Year in 2016, Best All Around International Groomer at Intergroom 2017, five Rising Star Gold Medals, Rising Star of the Year award at Intergroom 2016, two Canadian BIS awards and had numerous Open Level placements in Canada and several in the United States. Nadia’s proudest moment was being awarded Canadian Groomer of the Year at the very first Canadian Grooming Industry Awards. She is a Nationally Certified Master Groomer with the National Dog Groomers Assoc. of America, Inc. and a certifier with the Intellectual Groomers Association. Her ultimate goal is to represent her country on Groom Team Canada with her peers.
Dave Campanella is an informative and entertaining seminar speaker, contributing trade columnist and genuine grooming enthusiast. He has over 30 years of pet industry knowledge, and has been Best Shot Pet Products sales, marketing, and product director for 15 years. He and his wife Tracy have co-owned a full-service pet salon and self-wash in Ohio prior to relocating with Best Shot to Kentucky. Together they enjoy exhibiting at grooming shows, being industry ambassadors and showing their Kerry Blue Terriers, Lowland Polish Sheep Dog, and Samoyed.
Dana got her start as a lead veterinary technician at the North Peninsula Humane Society from 1998. While working there she witnessed firsthand the importance of basic care for our pets. She worked in many areas of the veterinary world before becoming a groomer in 2005 and founded A Purrfect Groomer. After 10 years in the brick and mortar salon she decided to go mobile and has been at it ever since. As a feline grooming expert, Dana was a founding member of the Intellectual Groomers Association and she wrote the guidelines that were used in feline certification. Now a Global Educator with Andis, Dana brings her vast knowledge of feline grooming to the everyday groomer.
Ms. Hyun Sook Cho has been in pet grooming and dog show fields for over 20 years. She won multiple Best In Shows and Gold medals in both grooming and dog show fields in South Korea. Ms Cho was a member of Korea Grooming Team in 2017. She has traveled to many countries to teach the grooming classes, including Australia, Taiwan and China. Ms. Cho owns her grooming school in Seoul, South Korea. She is also IGU, Barkleigh Korea and KOCA instructor and judge.
Jonathan David has been the recipient of multiple scissoring awards, multiple Best All Around Groomer awards and Best in Show earning him a position on GroomTeam USA in 2008 and 2009. Jonathan was also a contestant on Animal Planet’s “Groomer Has It” and has been featured as a grooming expert on multiple television shows. Currently, Jonathan owns and operates his salon, Lap of Luxury Dog Spa in Delray Beach, Florida and is a board member of multiple dog clubs.

An industry veteran, Teri has owned and operated successful salons and mobiles in Florida and California. A winning grooming contest competitor, Teri was a member of three GroomTeam USA Gold Medal teams. A multiple Barkleigh Honors and Cardinal Crystal Award winner, Teri was a regular columnist for Groomer to Groomer Magazine as well as a popular speaker and judge at seminars and trade shows across the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
Sarah Drouin, NCMG, has been in the grooming industry since 2010, where she started as a bather in a corporation, and through years of hard work, dedication and continued education, has moved her way up the ranks to get to the top of her game. Not only is she an Award-winning groomer, she also makes videos to help other groomers advance their skills. Sarah has won multiple first, second and third place awards in grooming competitions and was nominated for Barkleigh Honors Up & Coming Groomer in 2018. Her strengths are creating Sustainable Pet Styles that separate her to be the best in her community.
Michell Evans is a multi-Best in Show and Best All Around winning groomer and a Certified Master Groomer through National Dog Groomers Association of America. She is the proud recipient of the Barkleigh Honors Awards for “Competitive Groomer of the Year” Award 2011, “Up and Coming Judge of the Year” 2013, “Contribution to the Industry” 2014 and “Journalist of the Year” 2016. Michell was a GroomTeam USA member 2009-2013. She was the hand stripping member of the Silver Medal Winning team in Belgium in 2011 and the Gold Medal Winning team in Spain in 2013. Her business “The Grooming Tutor” has been educating groomers since 2000.
Dr. Cliff Faver, a 1987 graduate of CSU, is the founder/owner of Animal Health Services in Cave Creek, Arizona. He is the US distributor for Iv San Bernard products. He uses the two businesses as a means of merging the grooming and veterinary professions to pursue his life’s passion of healing and helping pets. Dr. Faver is an international speaker and teaches the ISB Pet Aesthetician Certification program. He is a member of AVMA, AAHA, AZVMA, a sponsor for the CPPGA, a Board member for the Burbank Kennel Club, and previously served on the Novartis Lead Committee, Hill’s International Global Veterinary Board, and is still active in a Veterinary Management Group.
Dara Forleo attended Nash Academy in Lexington, KY, and upon completion of the Nash Program, earned her BA for Business Management from Ottawa University. Over the last 11 years, Dara has built a state-of-the-art facility called Dara’s Paw Spaw and The Whole Pet Grooming Academy, which has earned recognition from the community and her devoted following of clients. Dara provides students coming to the academy with the best equipment, products and curriculum, unlike any other offered in the country. Dara believes that training is not just about producing a beautiful groom today, it is about the long-term well-being of the groomer, the pet, the customer and the business.
Danelle German, CFMG, CFCG, founder and president of the National Cat Groomers Institute of America and the world’s first feline-exclusive grooming school, speaks worldwide on a wide variety of cat grooming topics. Danelle has authored books, study guides, certification standards, and articles for various publications and is the inventor of the Catty Shack Vac™ drying system as well as Chubbs Bars shampoo for pets.
Elizabeth Gibbs is an award-winning National Certified Master Groomer who has been in the grooming industry for over ten years. She spent nine years of her career in corporate and worked her way from a bather up to a grooming trainer. In 2018 she was nominated for Barkleigh Honors "Up and Coming Groomer of the Year". She has been featured on the educational video page "groomsource" and you can now catch her in the grooming ring competing in open level or showing her Bichon and English Cocker in the AKC ring.
Blake Hernandez, NCMG, is a passionate and valued industry leader. Blake has worked tirelessly to go from complete novice to nationally ranked competitor in record pace. This certain determination and love for dogs and their care has led him to multiple State-Level Groomer of the Year awards and five Barkleigh Honor Nominations. When he is not managing his own Salon in San Diego, he is most commonly found exhibiting Bichon or Standard Poodles at his nearest Conformation Show. Blake is also a Brand Ambassador for Foxy Roxy Supply Co. with whom he partnered to develop his very own line of shears. Barb Hoover has been in the grooming industry for 28 years and is certified with the National Dog Groomers Association of America. She owns the Groomers Lounge website, www.groomers.net. Barb won the David Salzberg Cardinal Crystal Award in 2007 and the Groomers Lounge was nominated for a Barkleigh Honor in 2011.
Ashley Julien is a professional dog groomer from Greenwich, New York. She originally started showing Shih Tzus but soon switched to West Highland White terriers at the age of 12 and from there earned the title of number one West Highland White Terrier Jr handler in the United States for three years running (2010, 2011, 2012). She has spent years apprenticing and devoted 10 solid years to hand stripping, pet grooming and dog handling. Ashley loves spending her free time at shows and expos and also enjoys spreading her knowledge of hand stripping and dog grooming and finds happiness in teaching and helping others.
Michelle Knowles, owner of All Things Paw, has over 30 years of experience as a private and professional pet care provider. Michelle is a Master Groomer and a Certified Pet Medical Aesthetician, has apprenticed, volunteered, worked, owned and managed in salons, kennels, zoos, and veterinary hospitals across the country. Michelle has also been trained in Tuscany, Italy in therapeutic work, hand stripping and advanced dermatological care. She has an ISB certification in skin and coat care, extensive experience with fear and trauma recovery, elderly pets, and a focus on managing allergic/dermatological disorders. Michelle has been published in Groomer-To-Groomer magazine and is a nationally recognized speaker in her field.
Internationally renowned creative stylist and instructor, Angela Kumpe has more placements in creative styling than anyone, worldwide. She won the first ever Barkleigh Honors Award for Creative Competitor. She is the author of A Creative Collection, a step-by-step guide to creative styling. Angela's work has been featured on Animal Planet, TLC, The Today Show, Regis and Kelly, and ABC Nightline as well as in The New York Times and on the cover of Groomer to Groomer magazine. Angela is the owner of Angela's Grooming and Pet Spa in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Jennifer Started competing in 2005. Since then she has won over 70 grooming competition awards, multiple Best in Show and Best All Around Groomer awards. Jennifer is a member of GroomTeam USA hall of fame, she was honored to become GroomTeam USA’s traveling team member to Belgium in 2011. In 2015, Jennifer also won International Groomer of the year award in Master Groom England. Jennifer is an international grooming seminar speaker, and has taught in many countries, including England, Sweden, Brazil, China, and Korea. Jennifer is an All Around EGA and USA grooming competition Judge, and a grooming certifier for Barkleigh Certification South Korea and IGU (International Groomers Union).
Ansley is an award-winning groomer whos talent is matched only by her passion for sharing the skills and techniques that have brought her success in both the competitive and commercial areas of the grooming industry. Ansley has been grooming for 7 years, competing for over 3 years, and was nominated for the esteemed Barkleigh Honors Award of Up and Coming Groomer of the Year in 2019. Melissa Mitchner is the CEO and founder of The Bark Shoppe, located in Harlem, NY. Melissa has over a decade in business management and expansion. Prior to entering the pet care industry, she worked for one of the largest retail companies in the nation and was responsible for hiring over 6,000 + people. She has 7 years’ experience in owning and managing a profitable salon. Since opening in 2012 she has expanded her services from grooming, to boarding, daycare and self-service facility and has also created private label products for her brand. She is passionate about helping entrepreneurs grow and establish their brands, and is currently a licensed grooming instructor by NY State.
Emily is a Master Groomer who has been grooming for more than 20 years. She is the owner of Animal Magic salons and The Dog Emporium dog daycare that are located on the Gold Coast, Australia. Emily is also the manager of over 80 grooming salons across Australia and is the principal of one of Australia's largest grooming schools, with 5 training academies. She is a multi-award-winning groomer, having won across all grooming competition categories. She has judged in competitions though out Europe, Asia, USA and Australia. Recently Emily has been lecturing and teaching seminars through Europe and China.
Chrissy Neumyer Smith CPG, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KA started Happy Critters in 2000 providing house call grooming and private dog training. As a groomer, behavior consultant, and trainer she understands the unique needs of the grooming setting. She started the Creating Great Grooming Dogs podcast in October of 2018 to help groomers, trainers, Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, owners, and all other dog pros to teach dogs be good for grooming, vet visits, and other types of husbandry.
Ashley Ann Odom is the founder of 'Diamonds in the Ruff' and is the sole owner of a luxurious pet spa/salon which has been in business for over four years. Ashley Ann is the first and only African American to complete her Masters at Yin Lin Grooming School in Chongqing, China. With a passion for caring for and stylizing animals, Ashley Ann traveled to Korea and China to study with master groomers and now has over 12 years of grooming experience. Her mission is to provide exceptional service but also to create a fun and loving atmosphere for all pets.
Cat Opson is a self-taught groomer who has been working in the industry for over 17 years. She has won many awards and accolades for her grooming skills in both regular competition classes and special classes such as Creative Styling, Model Dog, and Rescue Rodeos. She has been owner/operator of Estrella Pet Grooming in Capistrano Beach, CA, for 13 years. Her specialty is poodles/poodle mixes and she boasts a large, busy clientele based solely on word of mouth advertising. She has also shown/handled dogs at AKC shows since 2000 and has earned several championship titles on her poodles owner handled.
Julie owns Best in Show Pet Salon in Gloucester, MA and has been in the Grooming world since 1994. Since Graduating Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute's Grooming and Kennel Management program, she has worked in many different venues including Schutzhund, Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Breed conformation and of course grooming. Julie has won Multiple Best-Groomed Dog and Best All Around awards over the years, was ranked in the top 10 on GroomTeam USA for multiple years from 2003 on, and qualified to compete in Milan Italy in 2007. Julie has always had a passion for Poodles and is very active in the Conformation ring showing many Toy, Mini and Standard Poodles to their AKC Championships.
Cheryl A Purcell, Nationally Certified Master Groomer, was a GroomTeam USA Member from 2002 to 2007. Cheryl retired in 2010 to become the GroomTeam USA Coordinator from 2011-2014, She captained the 2013 Gold World Grooming Champion Travel Team. Cheryl is also a five-time Cardinal Crystal nominee and a Barkleigh Honors Awards nominee. Cheryl and her dog River where the 2014 Kerry Blue Terrier BOB at Westminster. Cheryl is a sought-after lecturer, judge and mentor. Cheryl owns and operates Pooch Paws Pet Grooming with her husband Ron in Hanover, MA.
Krystal Purcell is a third generation Certified Master Groomer and member of GroomTeam USA. She started competing in grooming competitions in 2001 at age 11, where she garnished a first place in the Oster Career Start. She worked in her parent’s shop after school and traveled around the country with her mother attending shows. In 2013, Krystal graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Since returning to the competition ring in 2014, Krystal has garnished many notable awards and nominations. Krystal has recently begun showing Kerry Blue Terriers and English Springer Spaniels, and currently owns and operates Pooch Paws to Go mobile grooming salon in Massachusetts.
Jess Rona is a dog groomer in Los Angeles and is known for her Instagram, @JessRonaGrooming that has over 100k followers and features her signature slo-mo videos. She directed the Tegan and Sara music video for “100x”, had a dog featured in Beck’s “WOW” video, and directed a commercial for the Standard hotel featuring her grooming clients. She’s been featured in O magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour, Elle, and Paper among many others, has been featured on several news programs including the Today Show and Good Morning America, and has had several write ups online. Some of her celebrity clients include: Katy Perry, Andy Garcia, Maria Menudos, and Marnie the Dog.
With 26 years of experience in professional grooming and conformation, Victor Rosado is a NCMG with NDGAA, ICMG, and is a certifier with IPG, as well as a Grooming Contest Judge and a Licensed All Breeds Conformation Judge for FCPR/FCI. As a competitive groomer, Victor Rosado is a multiple Best All Around and Best in Show winner, and one of the top groomers on GroomTeam USA. Victor is a member of American Spaniel Club, an AKC Breeder of Merit, and an exhibitor of American Cocker Spaniels for 20 years with multiple Best in Show and Best in Specialty Shows wins. Victor is also an Oster Ambassador in Latin America and owner of Davis Puerto Rico.
Tammy has been grooming and competing for over 24 years and now manages a busy upscale salon in Hinsdale, IL. She made GroomTeam USA in 2008, 2011, 2012, ultimately achieving her goal to travel to every show that was GroomTeam sanctioned for four years, and has been the Secretary for GroomTeam USA since 2013. Tammy has been the National Grooming Consultant for Espree Animal Products and works for Andis Company as a part of their Small Animal Education Team. She received certification from the USA Judges Alliance in 2012 and now judges at shows around the country and internationally. Tammy is certified in Animal CPR and First Aid and is currently working on becoming a Certified Master Groomer.
Christine competed in the very first grooming competition held in Australia, Groomalong 1992, and has been a leading figure in the Australian grooming industry ever since. Christine is a multi-award-winning groomer whose work has been featured on prime-time television segments and also in numerous print media magazines. Christine is the “Grooming Ambassador” for Purina Petlife and is an original member of GroomTeam Australia and the current team manager. In 2010, she became the first Australian groomer to be accepted onto the International Judges Association panel and is the leading instructor at The Grooming School which she co-founded with her husband Les in 2004.
Colin Taylor, author of ‘What Would Colin Do? 101 Situations and Solutions for Every Dog Groomer’ and founder of the Colin Taylor Academy is an international multi-award-winning groomer, who has been in the industry for 30 years. After more than 20 years of grooming in the US, Colin has returned to the UK to continue his career. His aim is to bring the same level of excitement and energy to the dog grooming industry worldwide. Colin is also an international judge and speaker and runs and manages Master Groom Dog Grooming Contest.
Shannon Tupes is a Certified Master Groomer for NDGAA as well as IPG. She owns, breeds and handles Bichon Frises in addition to her recognition for one of the top breeders of Yorkshire Terriers. She founded and owns Pink Paw Pet Spa & Resort in Birmingham, AL. Shannon is an active competitive groomer.
In 1998, Joey purchased the Nash Academy in New Jersey which he owned and operated until 2008. Now a well-known pet industry speaker and judge, Joey has been nominated 14 times for the Cardinal Crystal and Barkleigh Honors awards. He has been enthusiastically involved with Intergroom International for 33 years and has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach into Belgium, Italy, and France. Joey is one of the original members of the International Judges Association and has made many television appearances. Today, Joey continues to innovate and explore new dimensions in the pet care and grooming industry. In early 2009, Joey became part of the Animal Radio on-air staff where he is known as "The Dogfather”.
Sergio has had a very extensive professional journey in the pet industry as a grooming instructor, handler, judge and speaker. He has judged international grooming contests in the United States, Brazil, Spain, Belgium, Argentina, Canada, Taiwan, China, Korea, since 2005 and is also an international seminar speaker. Sergio has won multiple awards around the world, including winning Best in Show at World Expo in Belgium in 1995. His dream is to pass along his knowledge to other groomers to help them grow and have successful careers of their own.
Sue, CMG, and third-generation pet stylist, began working with dogs over 39 years ago. She owns a mobile grooming business, Best All Around Groomer, serving the Chicago area. She was the winner of the Wahl 2003 Groomer of the Year Award at Westminster Dog Show and the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards for American Groomer of the Year in 2002-2004, and nominated two-time nominee for the Cardinal Grooming Contest Judge of the Year award. Since she began competing in 1995, Sue has received Best in Shows and Best All Around Groomer awards. She has been a member of the 2000 – 2005 Groom Team USA teams and is a representative of the Wahl Clipper Corporation.
