As a groomer, behavior consultant, and trainer she understands the unique needs of the grooming setting. She started the Creating Great Grooming Dogs podcast in October of 2018 to help groomers, trainers, Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, owners, and all other dog pros to teach dogs be good for grooming, vet visits, and other types of husbandry.
Jessica Adorno is the owner/founder of Pupparazzi Pets Mobile Pet Grooming. She has been involved in the grooming industry for 15 years with both knowledge of grooming salon and mobile pet grooming. Jessica was formally trained at American Academy of Dog Grooming located in NYC. She is CPR certified and has extensive knowledge in skin and coat conditions. Jessica is no stranger to this business and her work reflects just that. At the start of her career, Jessica worked in a grooming salon for 4 years where she gathered knowledge of several breeds and the complexities that groomers, pet owners, and pups face. In 2007, Pupparazzi Pets was born as Jessica started one of the first mobile pet grooming businesses in Bronx, NY. She first started her business in a horse trailer with little knowledge in running a mobile business. Brick by brick Jessica gained the knowledge and with time she went from running a small simple trailer to three elite mobile vans. Throughout the years, she has continued her education and is dedicated to her craft.
Chris Anthony, weary from her travails in retail management and office work, found her calling when she discovered pet grooming. Her near fifteen year journey in this career has led her through many opportunities, experiences & life lessons, including grooming and managing in both small and corporate salons, and starting her own successful house call grooming business in New Jersey. Supplementing those life lessons by educating herself on the varying aspects of her career, she always sought out innovations in pet care, education, grooming techniques, tools and products. Now her passion for grooming & education has added more in depth knowledge on scissors, scissoring techniques and ergonomics to help preserve her own health and longevity in her chosen profession.
Khris Berry has been actively involved in the pet industry for 33 years. She currently co-owns and operates See Spot Grooming & Daycare with multiple Pet Grooming, Training, and Daycare facilities in Florida and Kentucky. She is the World Pet Association Director of Grooming, and is an advocate for education, safety, business and workplace issues for groomers worldwide. Nationally recognized as a Barkleigh Honors winner in 2017, multiple Barkleigh Honors nominations including Contribution to the Industry, Journalist, Book of the Year, and Speaker of the Year, Pet Age Magazine 2018 Vanguard Award Winner, and 2019 Pet Age Magazine Women of Influence Award Winner, Khris has established a platform of education and awareness in animal handling and safety in the pet industry and is an active advocate for fair and effective pet groomer legislation.
Diane Betelak is a Nationally Certified Master Groomer and has owned Heads and Tails Professional Dog Grooming, Inc. in Liverpool, NY since 1982. Diane groomed competitively in the U.S. and abroad and has multiple "Best in Shows" and "Best All-Around Groomer" wins. She qualified for the “GroomTeam USA” traveling team in 1996 and went to Milan, Italy where she won “Best in Show” with her Standard Poodle. Officially retired from active competition Diane is an International Grooming Consultant for The Andis Company. She has been a speaker and has judged all major grooming shows throughout the U.S. and Canada. Diane is also a certifier for N.D.G.A.A. Diane was the recipient of the Cardinal Crystal Award for American Groomer of the Year in 1997 and Crystal Award for Grooming competition Judge of the Year in 2011.
Jennifer Bishop-Jenkins, ICMG, is the owner and Master Groomer at Love Fur Dogs in Glencoe, Illinois. Named by the Chicago Tribune as the "Best Groomer in Chicagoland", Jennifer can be seen this fall 2018 on the Hulu Network national television program Small Business Revolution (Season Three) as a Grooming Expert. Jennifer founded the Illinois Professional Pet Groomers Association and has been grooming, breeding, and showing various breeds of dogs and cats for four decades. She authored several published articles on various grooming issues, and has an award-winning blog. Jennifer was one of the first generation of "CMGs" but spent most of her career as a professional educator teaching high school, college, and also in vocational grooming schools. Jennifer and husband Bill are nationally prominent victim advocates, and love the fun they have showing their newest Grand Champion Miniature Poodle "Bowie".
Nadia Bongelli has been grooming pets since 2009 and competing since 2012. Her accolades include Barkleigh Honors Up and Coming Groomer of the Year in 2016, Best All Around International Groomer at Intergroom 2017, five Rising Star Gold Medals, Rising Star of the Year award at Intergroom 2016, two Canadian BIS awards and had numerous Open Level placements in Canada and several in the United States. Nadia’s proudest moment was being awarded Canadian Groomer of the Year at the very first Canadian Grooming Industry Awards. Dave Campanella is an informative and entertaining seminar speaker, contributing trade columnist and genuine grooming enthusiast. He is Best Shot Pet Products sales and marketing director and has over 25 years of pet industry knowledge and experience. He and his wife Tracy co-owned a full service pet salon and self-wash in Ohio prior to relocating with Best Shot to Kentucky. Laverne Campbell, known by her students and clients as the certified master groomer/instructor has been in the grooming field for over 30 years. Her early works included studying under and working alongside Sam Khol, in one of the first grooming schools established in New York City. Over the years Laverne has fine tuned her approach and focus, making her an expert handler with dogs that are disabled, with skin disorders and behavioral issues. Dana got her start as a lead veterinary technician at the North Peninsula Humane Society from 1998. While working there she witnessed firsthand the importance of basic care for our pets. She worked in many areas of the veterinary world before becoming a groomer in 2005 and founded A Purrfect Groomer. After 10 years in the brick and mortar salon she decided to go mobile and has been at it ever since. As a feline grooming expert, Dana was a founding member of the Intellectual Groomers Association and she wrote the guidelines that were used in feline certification. Multi-award winning creative stylist and instructor, Lori Craig has placed in almost every creative competition she has entered. She is best known for her “Lion King” design, which was undefeated and garnered her a Barkleigh Honors Award. Lori has owned Doggie Styles in Moore, Oklahoma for thirteen years and is Vice President and certifier for the National Society of Creative Stylists. Jonathan David has been the recipient of multiple scissoring awards, multiple Best All Around Groomer awards and Best in Show earning him a position on Groomteam USA in 2008 and 2009. Jonathan was also a contestant on Animal Planets “Groomer Has It” and has been featured as a grooming expert on multiple television shows. Currently, Jonathan owns and operates his salon, Lap of Luxury Dog Spa in Delray Beach Florida and is a board member of multiple dog clubs.

Mindy Dinwiddie owns Classy Canine in Litchfield, Michigan. She began grooming in 2007, having her own shop by 2008. She started in a back bedroom of her house, growing her business to a storefront. He uses the two businesses as a means of merging the grooming and veterinary professions to pursue his life’s passion of healing and helping pets. Dr. Faver is an international speaker and teaches the ISB Pet Aesthetician Certification program. Anne has been a professional pet stylist for over 20 years, joining the team at The Village Groomer & Pet Supply in Walpole, Mass in 1995. Anne was the recipient of the Cardinal Crystal Award for Journalist of The Year for her work on the instructional article in Grooming Business Magazine, “The Grooming Table.” She was a member of GroomTeam USA in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and winner of “Taxi Award” at the NEPGP for the best expression and character on a mixed breed. Jennifer Greene, CVT is a certified veterinary technician with over 10 years of experience in small animal practice and over 12 years in the veterinary sales industry. Along with her technical experience, she has gained a great deal of experience in client education and provides insight on how to recognize and give recommendations to manage infections of ears and skin. Responsible for developing an online presence for countless businesses, he has designed digital campaigns to increase online sales and generate new clientele. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Advertising & Digital Marketing, with additional certifications in Google Ads, the Facebook Blueprint, and other brand certificates. In his free time, he enjoys writing, creating visual media and traveling.
Laura Civello Hearn’s first job was at a veterinary clinic and she discovered that she fainted at the sight of blood. She moved to Petco to “make dogs pretty” and graduated from the academy in 2007. She has since worked in a variety of grooming settings including a corporate salon, doggie day care, and as an employee of a mobile grooming company. In 2011 she started her house-call grooming business, Lazy Daisy Mobile Grooming in Texas. In 2013 she started giving educational seminars about house-call grooming. She wrote and self-published her first book, "A Practical Guide to House-call Grooming" in 2017 which was nominated for Barkeligh Honor Awards "Book of the Year" for 2018. Laura has since relocated to New York. She lives with her husband, Gentry, two dogs, Lilli and Lucky, and Bob the cat!
Blake Hernandez, NCMG, is a passionate and valued industry leader. Blake has worked tirelessly to go from complete novice to nationally ranked competitor in record pace. Mackensie Murphy is a second-generation pet stylist, following in her mother's footsteps and becoming the very first second generation GroomTeam USA. In 2005, Mackensie started her own grooming career at the young age of 18. Mackensie began her competition career in early 2011 and has been awarded multiple Best in Show awards, Best All Around Groomer awards and is a five-time winner of the prestigious Liz Paul Memorial Best Scissored Poodle Award. Mackensie consistently stayed among the top three competitors and earned herself a position on GroomTeam USA in 2012 which she has sustained up to this current year.
Sam Nelson’s roots in the grooming industry began in 2006, when he worked in sales for a grooming supply distributor. After working for two major distribution companies, Sam took a leap of faith in 2015, and with just three product lines, he opened Love Groomers. Over the last three years, Sam has spent countless hours attending product training workshops, pet expos, AKC dog shows and grooming trade shows all over the country, broadening his knowledge and understanding of grooming products and equipment. Making customer service and strong relationships with his customers and peers a top priority, he has become a staple in the grooming industry. Julie owns Best in Show Pet Salon in Gloucester, MA and has been in the Grooming world since 1994. Since Graduating Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute's Grooming and Kennel Management program, she has worked in many different venues including Schutzhund, Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Breed conformation and of course grooming. Julie has won Multiple Best Groomed Dog and Best All Around awards over the years, was ranked in the top 10 on GroomTeam USA for multiple years from 2003 on, and qualified to compete in Milan Italy in 2007. Julie has always had a passion for Poodles and is very active in the Conformation ring showing many Toy, Mini and Standard Poodles to their AKC Championships.
Christina is a certified master dog groomer (NDGAA), certified feline master groomers (CFMG), breeder of poodles and Brussels griffons was a professional handler for over 15 years finishing many different breeds to their championships. She has owned the pet connection in warren, Ohio since 1985. She won the first ever Barkleigh honors award for speaker of the year. She has won multiple best all-around and best groomed dog in show. Was on groomteam USA three different years. After winning the Oster international invitational tournament of champions in 1995, she retired from competitive grooming. With exception of being invited to and winning the les pooch poodle challenge 2008. She now works for Jarden consumer solutions/manufacturer of Oster professional products as their national training manager.
Jill Pipino started grooming in 2000. She bought a turnkey operation, turning it into a successful business offering her clients everything from daycare to spa services and personality trims to show styles. She began regularly attending seminars and trade shows at the beginning of her career, and started competing in 2007. She has been a regular in the competition circuit ever since. In an effort to further her understanding of pet styling, she has trained privately with top stylists and breeders. She also works with breeders and handlers at dog shows and is looking forward to showing her field spaniel, Brucie.
As a second-generation groomer, Macie has been immersed in the dog world her whole life. She has been grooming professionally since 2010. Macie started competing in 2014 and quickly rose to the top, becoming one of the youngest competitors in open division. In 2016 she was nominated for the Barkleigh Honors Up and Coming Groomer of the Year Award. She will continue to travel and compete nationally until she achieves her dream of making GroomTeam USA. Adriane Pope is an award-winning Pet stylist in Breed Profile and Creative Grooming. Her specialty is extreme creative styling and creative abstract design. Adriane is owner/groomer of Adriane's Groom and Go Mobile Grooming in Conway, SC., and also the owner of Rivertown Bed and Biscuit Luxury Kennel since 2004. She has 24 years of grooming experience, and has been mobile for 22 years. She started competing in breed profile in 1997 and started the creative world in 2004.
Cheryl A Purcell Nationally Certified Master Groomer: groomteam USA Member from 2002 to 2007. Cheryl retired in 2010 to become the groomteam USA Coordinator from 2011-2014, She captained the 2013 Gold World Grooming Champion Travel Team. Chris Quinlan grew up in a family business that has specialized in hospital hygiene, sanitation, laundry, and floor care since 1958. While earning a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic University, Chris also received extensive training in the areas of chemistry, microbiology, hospital infection control principles and practices, institutional hygiene, environmental sanitation, odor control, floor care, and OSHA compliance. Today Chris is president of Health Technology Professional Products, a leading brand in the pet care industry, and owns the Riverwalk Pet Resort with his wife Gia, the Riverwalk Pet Resort Inc. a grooming, boarding, daycare and retail business. Chris has been a speaker on sanitation for the Pet Services Association national meeting, as well as speaking on hospital hygiene and sanitation at several veterinary schools and associations.
With 26 years of experience in professional grooming and conformation, Victor Rosado is a NCMG with NDGAA, ICMG, and is a certifier with IPG, as well as a Grooming Contest Judge and a Licensed All Breeds Conformation Judge for FCPR/FCI. As a competitive groomer, Victor Rosado is a multiple Best All Around and Best in Show winner, and one of the top groomers on GroomTeam USA. Victor is a member of American Spaniel Club, an AKC Breeder of Merit, and an exhibitor of American Cocker Spaniels for 20 years with multiple Best in Show and Best in Specialty Shows wins. Victor is also an Oster Ambassador in Latin America and owner of Davis Puerto Rico.
Dr. Sanson studied at the University of Missouri, Columbia and obtained a doctorate in Organic Chemistry. He is a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemistry and has been developing animal grooming products - from shampoos to leave-on cologne sprays - for the professional and consumer markets. As an avid animal lover, he doesn’t develop any products that he would not use on his own pets.
Helen is a successful competitive groomer, nationally ranked (2017/18) and NCMG. Over the span of her almost 15 year career she has done everything from Housecall and Corporate to Mobile Grooming. She is the former owner of the award winning The Groom Studio, whose slogan, "Where every dog is a work of Art" has become Helen’ s personal Mantra, and what she hopes to pass on through teaching. Philip Schafmayer, NCMG was a Professional All Breed AKC Handler for over 18 years. Philip has been a professional pet stylist since 1997 and became a Certified Master Groomer with NDGAA in 2017. He was awarded Best in Show and Best All Around Groomer at NEPGP 2017 at his very first competition, then again at NEPGP 2018. Philip made the GroomTeam USA Top 10 Pet Stylists for 2017 as well as 2018, and earned the #5 GroomTeam USA spot for 2018, as well as being announced as the 2020 World Travel Team Alternate. In February 2018 Philip retired from Professional Handling and opened Dogs by Design Pet Salon in Danielson, CT, and is getting ready to open his second salon in Cranston, RI.
Jay and his wife, Michelle, own Here Comes the Groom, a highly successful mobile grooming salon in Germantown, Tennessee. Jay has won multiple Best in Show and Best All-Around Groomer awards and helped Groomteam USA win the Gold medal in Calgary, Canada, in 2001. Jay was named American Groomer of the Year in 2001, Groomer of the Year Award at Westminster Dog Show in 2002, and Grooming Judge of the Year in 2004. In 2003 Jay won an International Gold and Bronze medal in Barcelona, Spain, helping groomteam USA win the silver team medal. He and Sue Zecco offer seminars nationally. Jay won a Barkleigh Honors Award at the event that he emceed.
Susan has been grooming dogs and cats for over forty years and has taught grooming for fifteen years. Her first love of dogs began very young while on the television set of Rin Tin Tin and then in her teens on the set of Hogan’s Heroes. Like many groomers, Susan turned a “hobby” into her life work. Her career began with showing and grooming her own dogs, progressed to showing and grooming for others as a Certified Professional Handler and, in 1997, Susan turned in her show leash for a judge’s book. She now judges breeds in five groups and has judged grooming competitions. Susan is presently an AKC Delegate for the Black Russian Terrier Club of America, where she holds the office of Recording Secretary and serves as Chairman of the Judges Education Committee.
Corina stumbled into the dog grooming industry by chance, but has brought fresh eyes and new ideas. She opened The Laundromutt, a self-service dog wash and grooming salon, on the concept that washing your own dog should be easy and fun. She believes that your dog should always be in the most educated hands, and in the cleanest and calmest environment possible. Corina is a college biology instructor and is currently in graduate school for Biotechnology.
Joey had 35 years of experience under industry visionary John Nash. He trained thousands of groomers as an instructor and director of Nash schools. In 1995, he became the owner of the Nash Academy of Animal Arts, New Jersey. Joey is an IJA judge and four-time nominee for Judge of the Year. Joey has appeared on numerous television shows, including Animal Planet's Dogs 101, NBC's The Today Show, and Fox's The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. As a judge on Animal Planet's Groomer Has It, a grooming-based reality TV show, Joey brought a technical insight to the show.
Suesan, a third generation pet stylist, began working with dogs over 39 years ago. She is a Certified Master Groomer, and owns a mobile grooming business, Best All Around Groomer, serving the Chicago area. She was the winner of the Wahl 2003 Groomer of the Year Award at Westminster Dog Show and the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards for American Groomer of the Year in 2002 - 2004. Suesan has been nominated two times for the Cardinal Grooming Contest Judge of the Year award. Since she began competing in 1995, Sue has received Best in Shows and Best All Around Groomer awards. She has been a member of the 2000 – 2005 Groom Team USA teams. She is a representative of the Wahl Clipper Corporation who is sponsoring her at Groom Expo.
Olga is a Certified Master Groomer and owns two grooming salons, Elite Pet Spa & Boutique in Madison, NJ and Grooming Gallery in Morris Plains, NJ. She has multiple BIS and Best All-Around Groomer wins as well as two prestigious Winners Circle Champion titles. Olga is 2009 and 2010 American Groomer of the Year by Cardinal Pet, and was awarded the Lynne Carver Memorial Award as Best All Around Stylist 2009. Olga was born in Russia where she had a Master Degree in Engineering and finished law school. Olga was a GroomTeam USA member 2008-2012 and won the Silver medal in Belgium, 2011 as a part of the traveling team. Olga co-hosts many pet fundraising events.
Sue is a 2011 Barkleigh Honors Award winner. She is a Certified Master Groomer with both the National Dog Groomers Association (NDGAA) and the International Professional Groomers (IPG). She has been grooming for over 30 years. She has won multiple grooming awards, including her biggest show accomplishments: 1998 International Groomer of the Year and 1999 Oster Invitational Tournaments Grand Champion. Sue has been a member of GroomTeam USA since 1997 and broke all records in 1999, earning 113 points. She is also a Wahl Clipper Corporation spokesperson. With Jay Scruggs, she conducts a series of full-day seminars called Super Styling Sessions. Sue breeds Standard Poodles under the “Dreamcatcher” prefix.
Joe’s journey in the pet industry started in 1986. Joe helped advance one of the World’s most prestigious Pet Resorts for nearly 20 years. Joe then began a 10-year focus on grooming product development as Director of Innovation and Product Development. In 2018, Joe joined the team at Paragon, the leading pet professional development and education solutions company. Joe leads the company’s efforts in providing learning solutions for the pet grooming services industry which are used by individuals, pet salon owners, and multi-unit retailers as their core training tools for new groomers and enhancing the skills of existing staff.
